Congratulations to Maddie & Kevin, who tied the knot at 90 State Events on 5.13.22 <3 <3
I had been waiting for this event for LITERAL YEARS, and after spending this whole day with my beautiful couple I can say with certainty that it was 1) everything I imagined and more 2) lovingly and meticulously planned with the most stunning details ever and 3) the sweetest, most meaningful celebration of two of the kindest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with.
M+K came into my life via an instagram message where they were choosing between dates and asking my availability. Not a week later, we were booked and planning an oceanside engagement session on Long Island where we officially met in person, explored an enormous park, got approached by an extremely friendly deer, and then jumped into some absolutely ice cold water. It was amazing, and just an appetizer for their wedding.
We started the day at the girls' light & airy airbnb in downtown Albany. I love easing into a wedding day with some detail shots, soaking up the vibes, and gently encouraging my brides to pop every bottle of champagne to build as much hype as possible. Maddie was the most hype bride and was down for everything. Pop champagne? Check. Bathtub glamour shots? Check. Emotional reveal with the girls? Check check check.
Soon, it was time for the first look at the Empire Plaza, and that sun was SHINING. Witnessing Kevin see his bride for the first time between gorgeous architecture and shimmering pools was the one of the sweetest moments of the day - they laughed, they cried, they read heartfelt notes to eachother.... it was just incredibly moving and really set the tone for an amazing rest of the day.
After portraits, wedding party & family formals, it was time to get to 90 State for the ceremony. This fabulously decorated venue left no candle unlit and no stone unturned. The ceremony was so heartfelt and full of both laughter and happy tears from virtually everyone in the building. It was easy to tell that this union was a long time coming and everyone was just so, so happy to be there celebrating these amazing people.
Following the ceremony, we took sunset pictures and let our couple dance the night away with all of their besties. Their crowd - no surprise - knew how to PARTY. On our way out, we said goodbye in the streets via taking a bunch of mind-blowing night shots as a gentle mist of rain started and stopped just for us. Magic. So magic.
This was, quite simply, the best day ever. Expertly planned by my pintrest/tiktok queen Maddie & her very handy new husb Kevin, experiencing this day was like stepping into a fairytale. Actually, they even got featured on Capital Region Living for their craftiness:
M+K - you two are amazing. You are two of the most genuine, kindest, caring people I have ever met, and your love for eachother lights up every room you grace with your presence. You are a beacon.
You have very quickly morphed from clients to friends that I will cherish forever. As our lives take us through major events, it has been such an honor to follow along to support your journey and be there to make everlasting memories of these special times (ie, taking your maternity photos which I can't wait to show you!). I am so glad you found eachother, and I am so grateful that you found me. Thank you for everything you do and for the honor of being your forever photographer.
