Kristen & D.j.'s Wedding, Riverdale Banquet Hall, Phelps Mansion, Binghamton, NY

Kristen & D.j. got married on 8/21/21 - a beautiful warm summer's day - at a church ceremony in Binghamton, NY, followed by downtown Binghamton portraits and a reception at Riverdale Banquet Hall.

Kristen and I had been following each other for a long time on Instagram because of our shared history as sisters of Alpha Kappa Phi at SUNY Oneonta, our alma mater. When she and D.j. got engaged, she reached out asap and I was so delighted to be able to work together on making their wedding photography dreams come true!

After a beautiful autumn engagement session at Chenango Valley State Park with these two, I just knew their wedding photos would be absolutely stunning. What I loved most about working with Kristen was her vision. She has a very specific, purposeful, and elegant style that also lent itself especially well to black and white images. I always love when a client appreciates the BW shots. Kristen also did all of her decor DIY. Like. What!? It was so gorgeous, I know it must have taken so much time and natural crafty talent - I was so impressed with her skills! The gold and black color scheme they chose looked so magnificent in their venue - almost as magnificent as Kristen's stunning wedding look - an intricately floral patterned lace wedding dress, bridal CAPE, and detailed headpiece that adorned her gorgeous long, dark curls. An absolutely radiant bride! D.j. was looking dapper as well, with a classic black and white tuxedo and bow tie!

I had such a fun time photographing this beautiful couple and their super fun wedding party. The energy on this day was so friendly, laid-back, and just overall an absolute joy to work with. After Kristen & D.j.'s ceremony and formals in St. Joseph's Church, we went into the heart of downtown Binghamton for couples' and wedding party formals, but the humidity soon became overwhelming. Thankfully, Kristen had made a call a few days prior to the Phelps Mansion Museum - an 1800's era mansion with a really glamorous inside that fully matched our stylish couple's aesthetic. I really loved the vintagey-photos we took in there and the variety that it added this gallery!

Dyan and I left after a few hours of reception time, and from what we saw, it looked like this crew had an amazing time at their party, enjoying eachothers' company and celebrating a wedding that was a long time coming. Kristen & D.j.., I loved everything about your special day and everything about working with you. Thank you so much for having me, and I wish you & the poodles a lifetime of happiness!
