Congratulations to Kristen & Tom, who tied the knot on Saturday in Downtown Albany at 60 State Place. The HLP team & I had the best time hanging out and taking photos on this glorious sunny wedding day for the sweetest couple to ever couple.
I first met K+T in person for their engagement session where we frolicked around Congress Park and wrapped up our perfect day at Bailey's to take some ~ moody ~ beer photos. I knew immediately that I had found my people in Kristen & Tom - they are funny, quirky, kind humans who instantly make you feel like you are home. I love them. I would also like to say that Kristen's favorite Disney movie is Lilo & Stitch which is also my favorite Disney movie and I was delighted that she has a friend group that refers to themselves as "Ohana". It means family. And family means... well, if you can't finish that sentence close this webpage and never talk to me again.
This wedding had it all - giraffe onesies, a gorilla in sunglasses in a closet, in-home barber service, recreated vintage wedding photos, a gorgeous church ceremony, plaza group pics, gnome decor, bank vaults, a little bit of ~ danger ~ (night shots on the street), and a LOT of love. I started off with the ladies, where my 8 bridesmaids and one very enthusiastic flower girl wore onesies and popped champagne (& apple juice), we recreated some vintage photographs of Kristen in the style of her mom's wedding photographs, and just basically prepped for a super laid-back day of fun. I have to say that I might be obsessed with Kristen's sweet parents, Angela & Frank. Even though it was their daughters wedding day, they were so, so sweet with their hospitality and kind chit-chat, and even insisted I take a cookie. One thing about me... if you give a Han a cookie, I will love you forever.
Back to the story - over at the guys' camp, there were stuffed animals, men with large face-razors, and lots of good vibes. We all met up at St. Edward the Confessor, a really lovely and bright circular church where K+T officially said "I do" at a full mass, followed by some church portraits, Empire State Plaza Portraits, and then off to the reception. This day was just a marathon of sweet moments and joking around - lots of fantastic meaningful decor and some excellent dance moves. Oh, dance moves, that's right. Our bride is a full-on badass Albany Empire ALBANY EMPRESS. Her ladies were all there, pom-pom's in hand, cheering on our girl and by the end of the night Kristen was doing a full split on the floor in her wedding gown. Forget Queen, she's an Empress if I've ever seen one.
Kristen and Tom – you two are awesome, I love you dearly and I hope that you had the time of your lives on 4.30.22 <3 <3 <3
